Using Windows Explorer, drill down to the Private folder in the client
access folder tree. Locate your session.WS file. Right click on it, and
open it with notepad. In the TN5250 section, insert a KeepAlive=Y
   statement, then save and exit.
That should solve that problem. In iSeries Access, I almost always add an IP address connection for
printer sessions, or I will modify the hosts file in Windows. Printer
sessions seem to work better if you provide an IP address or a name from
within the hosts file. I don't know why, that's just my experience. You
should also put a keep alive statement in that .WS file.

Thank you for the suggestion. The KeepAlive=Y works terrific! Since I put it in it has not crashed again.

I am having a little difficulty getting the hosts file to work. I added a line with the printer's IP address I am trying to put an entry in the hosts file. I first tried what I believe is the external IP address for my system.
It is the one listed on the router status page in my router setup.
I also tried adding a line with the printer's IP address and I tried one with the router's address at 192.168.0.1

With any of these on, my message has changed but it is still crashing with

CWBCO1004

Cause
iSeries Access for Windows could not determine the IP address for the server.

I get the idea of what the hosts file does, but am struggling with the details. Can anyone help me with this one

Thank you in advance.
