Re: Journal records written to disk.

The journal must be written to disk or to the "battery protected" cache before returning fron the commit. This is a good reason to rely on the database manager and not to write your own "protection routine".

But won't the journal writes be in the disk controller cache anyway?
Even if the journal "thinks" they're written to disk they might still be
lost, no?
