If you're getting LTO3, I'd recommend fibre channel. We have a couple TS3310s, *GREAT* drives, really impressed with them - connected via fibre - allows you for better expansion and flexibility options through your enterprise in the future as well, say if you wanted to put them in a SAN fabric. LVD SCSI to fibre - fibre is obviously better, not sure if it's so much better on LTO3 that the bottleneck is LVD vs the actual drive when using fibre, but I do know that LTO3 on fibre is blazing fast. Just insanity. Read this post in 10 years and get a chuckle. =) -- Justin C. We'll most likely be driving a TS3100 Ultrium3 tape library... is a 5712 tape controller sufficient, or is one of the newer cards a better performing option? If so, how much of a difference is there? -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. ________________________________________________________________________ _____ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
