Jim,
I have the PowerWare UPS at one of my clients attached to a 9406.
The interface card is very simple to install, and the cable plugs into the
9406.
If utility power is lost, it sends a signal to the system and that triggers
the standard power loss message.

  Hi,

Were in the process of investigating how easy it would be

to connect our 9406-S30 to our PowerWare 9330 that currently is the
battery backup for the rest of our Windoze servers.

Why have separate UPS units if it's all able to be run off of one is our
thinking.

It appears if we order/install the PowerWare Relay_Interface Card

http://www.powerware.com/UPS/Connectivity/Relay_Interface.asp

and it can attach to an AS/400 via a serial cable just like we currently
have to our BEST power unit

it sounds like it will send a signal to the iseries and produce a
CPF1816 or some sort of message in the appropriate message queue.

Anyone have any experiences like with such a device or hooking up an
AS/400 or ISeries to such a unit ?

Thanks in advance
