Jim,

You need to put 1 or more DNS server addresses in the 400. On your PC do a 
IPCONFIG /ALL and enter from a DOS window. That will list several things 
that will include 1 or more DNS servers or you could ask your network 
people.

Now on the 400 do a CFGTCP and then Option #12. At the bottom of that 
screen there will be a place for up to 3 Domain Name Servers (DNS), put 
the IPs from your PC or network people in there and you should be set.

ftp to external server by name







I need to ftp to another server (ftp-in.usps.gov) daily from a clp pgm.
I'm told the ip address may change often and i must access by name.
>From my pc within lan I can get to the site.
>From the iSeries (same lan) using command line I cannot get to the site. 
If I enter a host table entry, i would be hardcoding the current ip 
address, which 
may change often. 
What can I do?
