Hi Brian

ignoring any security issues, why doesn't the DTS application simply connect
to the iSeries in the first place using an ODBC or similar type connection ?

Hi All,

I currently have an FTP job that runs on our Win2k3 Webserver that I
would like to move to our AS/400. The job simply transfers an ASCII
file over from our clients FTP server every minute. However, I will
still need our MSSQL server to read the files from this FTP job, as they
are run through a specific DTS package and added to the MSSQL database.

What is the easiest way to set up a shared filespace on our AS/400 that
could be read by the DTS package on the Windows server? The other
question is will the files that are placed on the AS/400 be changed in
any way if they are downloaded as ASCII files?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Brian.
