GO SAVE
roll down
position cursor on option 21, hit <F1>

This option runs the following commands:

    ENDSBS SBS(*ALL) OPTION(*IMMED)
    SAVSYS
    SAVLIB LIB(*NONSYS) ACCPTH(*YES)
    SAVDLO DLO(*ALL) FLR(*ANY)
    SAV OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT)
      ('/QDLS' *OMIT) UPDHST(*YES)
    STRSBS SBSD(controlling-subsystem)

Now,
Do the ENDSBS yourself manually.
String these into a CL program:
    ENDSBS SBS(*ALL) OPTION(*IMMED)
    SAVSYS
    SAVLIB LIB(*NONSYS) ACCPTH(*YES)
    SAVDLO DLO(*ALL) FLR(*ANY)
    SAV OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT)
      ('/QDLS' *OMIT) UPDHST(*YES)
filling in the tape drives.
The first time an old timer does a SAV and has to figure out the tape
drive is different, but it is generally something like
    SAV DEV('/QSYS.LIB/TAP01.DEVD') OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT)
      ('/QDLS' *OMIT) UPDHST(*YES)
As time goes by, you can enhance your CL program. I log the start times
and stop times of each step into a file.
