Subject: New DB2/400 Drivers Officially Released from Microsoft...

On Monday, Microsoft announced new drivers for DB2/400 as part of the Visual
Studio 2005 product launch.

The OLE DB Driver for DB2 supports connectivity over TCP/IP and can be
considered a replacement for IBM Client Access. In this scenario, the
customer does NOT need to license Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004
which is how the drivers were traditionally distributed. As always, test
your applications before replacing any other technology to ensure 100%
compatibility. The drives are a free download.

The driver supports IBM DB2 for OS/400 V5R1 and later to support an SNA
LU6.2 or TCP/IP network connection.
