Tom, not so much a quir, I think. This is similar to the behavior of GRTOBJAUT - that command can take a *ALL but does not affect the library. This is also something to remember when saving in the IFS - if you save a path like

/mypath

you get the objects in that folder (and subtree if you say to) AND the folder. This is like SAVLIB.

If you say

/mypath/*

you get only the objects in the folder, NOT the folder. This is like SAVOBJ. But this will bite you if you use the results of the latter and try to restore the folder - NO CAN DO.

Is there any reason you didn't just use the CHGAUT command itself? You can supply a generic name so that the directory is traversed and the command has a AUTL() parameter.

There is also CHGOWN that will change ownership. AFAIK, both commands work in the /QSYS.LIB path as well as in normal IFS directories.

There is a quirk that I've never looked at to find how to resolve: if you supply a path -- /home/myhome/* -- the myhome directory itself isn't included. You have to have one additional instance of the command to get the directory itself.
