Still, Al, seems almost as much fun as playing a nude volleyball game on the Greenland icecap.

Since the "old" PTF was installed perm by the PTF process (I know I didn't do it), and since I IPL from the 'B' side (except under duress), just want to be sure that the fix (MF35014) will take precedence (or whatever) over the old, perm PTF (MF34708).

The reason for the defect was something along the lines of "degraded performance," and as best I can tell we're humming right along. So there doesn't appear to be a problem. Just checking, though.

You do not need to scratch. You can re-slip LIC only, and apply PTFs.

You can't remove a perm installed PTF without a scratch reinstall.

Subject: PTF Defect

I am getting ready to put on the latest CUM and groups.
Reviewing the
Defective PTFs list I noticed that one defect (MF34708) is installed
Perm on my system. At the same time the fixing PTF (MF35014)
is shown
as installed. (All of this through Navigator.)

The recommended action for the defect is to remove MF34708
and apply the
fix.

My question is: Do I need to remove MF34708 since MF35014 is already
installed? I would have expected MF34708 to say Superseded, but it
doesn't, thus the question.
