Good point, printers are impossible. I am trying to get a 6400 under maintenance for weeks now. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Brian Piotrowski Sent: Thursday, September 15, 2005 3:24 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: RE: Received someone else's PTF CD? Kind of OT, but IBM is notorious for not keeping records between departments in synch. Case in point - we used to have our printer maintenance contracts through them. Almost every time we called they told us that the printers in question were not under warranty. After checking with another department, they found out we were right and said they would make the corrections on our records. Of course, when we called the next time, the cycle started again. We ordered cume PTF's a couple of weeks ago and the label on the CD's had the name of another company. It was the name of a leasing company. We bought out the lease on our 720 two years ago but maybe IBM got something screwed up in their records. The paperwork looked OK and had our company name beneath the leasing company name. It was just the company name on the label that was confusing. As far as the CD's go after they loaded the PTF's that we needed were there.
