I am trying to figure out whose rules we are playing by, the iSeries or Unix, when I am running in PASE. In the UNIX world you state that c) *PUBLIC has the same object authorities to the new object that it has to the parent directory. I think that is what I expected since the folder has the following permissions:
Data --Object Authorities-- User Authority Exist Mgt Alter Ref*PUBLIC *RWX X X X X
QTMHHTP1 *RWX X X X XQTMHHTTP *RWX QTMHHTP1 owns the folder and, presumably, QTMHHTP1 is the profile that PHP is running under.
The file, however, is created with the permissions I stated before: Data --Object Authorities-- User Authority Exist Mgt Alter Ref*PUBLIC *NONE X X X X
QTMHHTP1 *RW X X X XSo this seems to be playing by iSeries rules and is similar to the CPYTOXXXX commands where the resulting object authority is *PUBLIC *NONE.
Have you, or anyone else, tackled such an issue? It looks like I could have the application that uploads the file issue a CHGAUT command on the file after it is uploaded. But, since it is PHP, I'd have to figure out how to issue that command correctly.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. Pete Holder, Ken wrote:
I attached a .txt file on IFS Authority consideration. I think it might help answer your question and maybe even more.
