Much depends on your application. I've seen applications that do not want to use files in QTEMP unless you specifically OVRDBF to QTEMP. Putting QTEMP at the top can cause them grief. On the flip side, I am sure other applications do not use an OVRDBF but assume that QTEMP would be in the top of that application's library list. I am thinking that putting qtemp at the top may have a small impact on performance. Because a bulk of your files and programs will not be in QTEMP, why should all applications search that library first for the existence of that object? Rob Berendt
