I haven't seen it happen with an audit journal receiver, but a database
journal receiver filling up will cause the jobs/programs/files writing to
it to stop and wait on 'entry not journaled' type messages. The way the
apps are written and what types of jobs they are functionally will
determine the real 'impact' to the users and apps. They definitely should
resolve it before hand since they know the event is coming! When I first
saw it happen at an old job we DIDN'T know it was coming and really had to
scramble. It's easy enough to fix this before any issues arise.

I have a client who has an Aud Jrn receiver fast approaching 9,999,999,999.
Will the sequence number for Jrn Rcvr's roll back to 1 once it gets to
9,999,999,999?

The client says that IBM told them that the system may crash (I hope it
wouldn't) once the receivers try to roll back to 1. I have recommended
that
the client create new Jrn Rcvr's with a entry threshold of 1000000000, and
associate the new receivers to their audit journals...restarting the count
from 1.

Anyone know what happens at 9,999,999,999?

Matt Graybiel
