Your correct, and agreed COMMON should ever be in NYC again either BUT not for the same reasons as you stated.
Any way the issue is not to damn NOLA but to give them a chance to restore their city and lives. I believe NYC and DC owe NOLA a large return for NOLAs aid and kindness when DC & NYC endured their tragic moments.
