sooo....even if I put in a valid AS400 user id and password and try to
map to the AS400, if that password does not match the Windows password,
it won't map? It is supposed to work that way? That is how it is working
here, and I think is pretty lame. Even using the "connect using a
different user name" feature it won't work if the passwords on the AS400
and Windows are different.

AFAIK: This is the way it works.  The userid & password must match
between the iseries & windows, unless you map the drive and specify
that
windows should "connect using a different user name".
