A question was raised if the sample tests for IBM certification are worth
the effort.  There are two answers.  First, if the test is on the
Certification web site, probably not.  If you are referring to the
assessment tests that you go to assess trac for, yes.

When the tests are written (several of the authors of those test are list
members and I am one of them) there is a process done to determine how many
questions on a specific topic there needs to be on each test.  If that
number is 2 for instance, then the test authors need to write at least 6
different questions on that topic, sometimes more.  4 of the questions are
used to mix/match up the different forms used on the actual test, and 2 of
them wind up on the assessment.  The authors are not aware of which
questions will go to which test.  The upshot is to make the assessment as
close to the real test as possible.
