We are having some trouble with an IBM 4247 printer set up as a *IPDS
device description on our 520 running V5R3. The two issues are that the
first job in the morning always gets hung up in SND status. We have to
end the writer and vary off the device to "wake it up" every morning.
In addition, this printer prints on special forms that are defined to
the iSeries, so we have to answer a message every time to get the
printer to start printing the form. I am feeling like I need to define
to the printer or the iSeries which forms are loaded on the printer, but
am not sure how to do this. The problems may be linked, but I am not
sure. Any conceptual help or hints on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim Reinardy
