Here is the source for fixing this issue - refers to both answers:

 * this program can be used to fix bad numeric data in a file

 * either use the H spec below, or compile the program as

 * follows using the FIXNBR option:

 *

 * CRTBNDRPG PGM(QTEMP/FIXDATA) SRCFILE(MYSRC/QRPGLESRC)

 *    FIXNBR(*ZONED *INPUTPACKED)

 *
