Does anybody know at what point OS/400 SQL started supporting UNION in a CREATE VIEW?

We have a customer who reported a file our QuestView product couldn't open. That in itself is enough to get us to sit up and take notice; it's not something we hear about every day.

On closer inspection, it turned out to be some kind of really funky SQL VIEW (on a physical that was compiled from DDS). I successfully built the physical from their DDS source on our V4R5 box, but when I tried to create the view, it rejected the CREATE VIEW with an SQL0154 message: UNION and UNION ALL not valid for CREATE VIEW.
