Missing the parms on the call mypgm.
Sbmjob cmd(call mypgm parms(&trgbuf &buflen))

NONONONO! Do NOT pass those parms that way, you'll almost certainly end up with problems. Remember the 32-char rule! Remember the problem with numeric parms passed through SBMJOB! If you need the parameters for something, then why not use them without a SBMJOB?? If you must pass them to another application, use a data queue or user space or some other safe method.

But, the original poster said he doesn't care about the data in the trigger, he just wants to kick off a job. In that case, DON'T PASS THE PARMS and you'll be fine.
