Ganesh, have you looked at: CPYTOIMPF it also does this and allows field
separators and delimiters.

Subject: FTP script from AS400 to excel

I need an FTP script to send a file from AS400 to excel sheet in my PC.

I know I need to call that script from my windows, using the command FTP
-S: SCRIPT1.

I was able to write a script to FTP my AS400 file to a .TXT file without
any difficulty. When I use .XLS instead of .TXT, I'm not getting the
required output.

I need to transfer a formatted file from AS400 and after the transfer
those fields should be aligned in the subsequent excel sheet columns.

So if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know.

Thanks,
Ganesh
