1 - You might want to try restoring a single file, just for practice. 2 - What kind of a tape drive are you using? Is it dedicated to BRMS? We have multiple 3582's. Both drives of one 3582 is dedicated to TSM. We load 14 tapes for the week in it using the removable boxes. The first night of the week takes 4 tapes. Other nights only take 1. (Think SAVCHG... concept.) We checkout the volume(s) used in the morning. And they move automatically to that little service slot on the right for removal and moving to offsite. So, the whole week's worth of tapes get's loaded in one sitting, but removed as used. 3 - TSM keys on volume id and seems to be alphabetical. If we physically load 10WK1, 11WK1, 12WK1, 01WK1, 02WK1... It will still use 01WK1 first. I suspect a tape labeled FRI001 would get used prior to TUE001. Finally, if you stay with your current technique (and it took a lot of beatings before these TSM concepts would start sinking into our thick skulls and we still have a way to go) fine. But you might want to look for the BRMS equivalent of "checkout" to get your MON001 out of rotation on holidays. Rob Berendt
