Rick - Don't give up that battle! IIRC *MAX1TB has been the default since about V4R1. I spent over two years fighting this one with our programmers and the end result was that when we converted to *MAX1TB it was a complete non-issue. I also recall that the worst possible performance is in a mixed environment with some *MAX1TB and some *MAX4GB access paths. See: http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/90402cf55bdbcdc786256ffd0076ec0 5/d0992b5f1fb2b2bc862568a90068cf06?OpenDocument&Highlight=2,*MAX1TB Change your physical files first and then change the logicals. The access paths will rebuild, so if you have big files they may take some time. Also watch for logicals in separate libraries from the associated physical file. I have the code that we used to do this (one library at a time.) If you like I can send it to you. I'm not going to promise you magical improvements, YMMV. But sometimes you've got to drag people into the next century. (I'm currently trying to force migration to the Apache HTTP server, also a two year battle, required to upgrade to V5R3.) DDS logicals are set at *MAX4GB (existed before 1TB option) and SQL indexes are set at *MAX1TB. --
