Just off the top of my head ... but what about checking for the existence of various environment variables?

When a web request comes in, certain environment variables will contain
the request information. If the user is accessing through a green
screen, those environment variables will be non-existent or empty.

I did think of this and had looked in the INFDS but so far have found nothing obvious - will explore further.

Many thanks

Rob
