No, no joke. Maybe you should consider that those hundreds of thousands
of midrange systems are doing the work of millions of Windows systems.
Replacing my single i5, which is nowhere near a big system, with
equivalent performance & reliability using Windows servers would require
a minimum of 7-9 systems and would cost 3-5 times as much to administer.
I've done the calculations.

A big reason Windows is more popular is because you need more
installations of it to provide the same service levels.

And who cares what a 7-11 clerk has to say? Seriously, why would they
matter in this discussion? I really want to know what qualifies them to
discuss server operating systems. Mainstream means adoption, usage, and
market longevity. It doesn't mean the average 17-year old knows about
it.

You're joking right? You must be to have even written this.

Back in the real world, I don't they needed to clarify it. Next time you
go to the 7-Eleven, your bank, McDonalds, etc., ask the clerk to name a
computer operating system.

Anyhow, I have to go change my jeans since I spilt my coffee over them
laughing at the line 'With hundreds of thousands of server installs, I
think i5/OS/400 can be called mainstream'. Hundreds of thousands is
'mainstream' hehehe that's a good one John!
