Hi Chris - Call me if you like, 515-267-2485. We have about 6.5 million docs on a fiber attached Shark. It's configured as a UDFS and all we store on the Shark are docs, all libraries are on internal DASD. We've migrated most of this from a 3995 over the last year. Most of our apps are still WAF, but the newer parts are CM. Are there any CMoD iSeries customers who are storing data on an external storage server? SAN/NAS/Shark? We currently have this working, but we are concerned with support issues with IBM and Netapp. What we want to do is migrate all of our CMoD data off a LAN-attached 3995 to disk of some sort. According to Netapp's website: http://tinyurl.com/a6p4j they have a partnership with IBM to be a storage provider for DB2 CM. But let me say that it's like pulling teeth to get IBM CMoD tech support to claim ownership of this. When we talk to them about mounting the network file system they claim to have no clue about this. Cost-wise, it is about $1,200 for a 144GB NAS drive. How much will it be for 3 70GB iSeries drives and a controller - 3 or 4x the cost of the one drive? Anyway, I'm just looking for thoughts/suggestions. Thanks in advance.
