We use Pat Townsend's version of PGP and run it on the AS/400. I believe it moves objects to the IFS but the software runs under OS/400. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Odom Sent: Friday, April 08, 2005 1:25 PM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: PGP Encryption Software for AS400 iSeries Karen, et al, Where do you run your PGP software..., native on the iSeries under OS/400 or in an LPAR running AIX or Linux or do you have to resort to using a Windoz server and run your input/output through the latter on its way in/out of the iSeries? The reason why I say that is because every version of PGP or GNU I've found doesn't run on the iSeries, which is not surprising. It needs to run under AIX, or some flavor of Unix or Linux or Windoz. I need to do the same thing and considered using the Qshell of OS/400 to run some version of PGP or GNU but don't know if it will work. If I have to, I'll configure an LPAR to use AIX or Linux to run my PGP or GNU.
