Actually, not true. Local, federal, state, municipal agencies
historically HAVE bought LOTS of AS/400's...Justice Dept is till running
some of Charlie Massoglia's old code he wrote when I lived down here!...at
least they're running it for the time being....

Agriculture was a BIG user of AS/400's and S/36's...there used to be a
AS/400 or S/36 in each field office accross the US...btw, they will all be
replaced with windows servers in less than 2 years.

...and the list is ALOT longer than that... Architect of the US Capital
used to be a BIG AS/400 user...they're now AIX...

USDA Grad school still uses a 400 for their bookstore and financials under
JDE, but that's not going to last long...

Vinnell, a local Gov't contractor, used to sell LOTS of 400's and prefered
to sell them due to thier reliability...but they can't now because they
can't get anyone to buy what they don't know....(long story here!)

No, this is a cross agency, local, federal, state, etc., conf...and Fed
level has been a AS/400 user for a long time....at least they used to be.
