Hello gang I just had an E-mail exchange, with the VP of Info Technology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. According to him, the Websphere software is provided free in IBM's Higher Education Software licensing arrangement, and it's a lead in to purchasing the hardware , and support contracts. IMHO, this is an example of the poor marketing that IBM is doing in education It's also reflected in their poor financial earnings. When I sent an E-mail to IBM, voicing my concern about this lack of marketing , their E-mail robot program thanked me for my concern. Great way to save money, and ironic too..
