I actually did this once (hint: don't turn on packet rules without creating any allow statements first). I ended up creating a new *lin configuration I hadn't told the IP rules about and connecting to that; I am sure there is a better way - but I was in a hurry. After that I always made sure that there was an allow all statement as the first rule for the IP address I was configuring from.
