On Ethernet (or Token-Ring), the IBM 5494 runs only SNA. It is not able to perform IP protocol. Don't confuse ethernet which is the physical layer and IP which is the network layer protocol. The IBM 5494 can run only SNA protocol on either an ethernet, a token- ring, an SDLC (switched or leased), or an X25 connection (there is also something with a FrameRelay connection but I don't know anything about this). > > Thanks, > > Chuck > > This does work for Perle compatible, which are able to perform > Anynet (eg APPC over IP) communications but not for pure IBM 5494. > -- Cordialement/Best regards Marc Rauzier Opinions I stated here are my own.
