This was mentioned some time ago. I can't remember for certain but I
think they mentioned in V5R2 that it was the last release to support the
migration assistant.

Was there any advance warning on this?
If someone would please raise this issue with IBM at Common Sound Off. I've got
perhaps 10 migrations to do in next couple years. Will have to take an
intermediate step to a box with an earlier release.
