I found the "Desktop Guide to Creating CL Commands" by Lynn Nelson, (c) 1996
by Duke Press, ISBN 1-882419-56-1, to be pretty good; it explains many of
the more subtle features and how they interact. It is now officially "out of
print" but you may find it for sale "used" on the Internet (Amazon, BN,
AbeBooks, etc.)
