A couple things:

What command are you using?

You have an extra right-parenthesis in the middle of the statement, after the right square bracket.

I'm not sure that square brackets are valid - I could be wrong there. It is certainly not a valid iSeries name, but you could try putting quotation marks before and after the alias name. Not double apostrophes, by the way.

You must have "a" defined as an alias of the file name in the FROM clause, right? Otherwise "a.imports" won't be understood.
