CPYF FMTOPT(*MAP) works the way you want it to work. Decimal to decimal, decimal to packed, packed to decimal, it aligns the number to preserve the real; value. I do not believe that it rounds as necessary, probably just truncates. Character to character, it left aligns. Left or Right? Also, if I have a numeric field that is 9,5 in the from file and 5,3 in the to file, how are the decimals adjusted? Are they truncated (.12567 becomes .125) or are they rounded (.12567 becomes .126)?
