And now a retrograde point of view... One of our parent companies is in the process of migrating from Notes to exchange. After evaluating the pros and cons our company has recommitted ourselves to staying on Notes. I am far from being knowledgeable on their decision process but they are big into Microsoft products. Standardization may have been a factor. They do still have a number of iSeries applications. They definately have more users than we do. I used to think that Notes was more robust even though it lacked some of the user-friendliness of a typical Windows application. Has Exchange been gaining ground? Does Domino need a "make over"? ...better PR? ...some new "cool" features? Is Microsoft destined to be dominant due to name recognition and Windows/Office integration? A former employer converted from MS Mail to Domino (on AS/400) in 1999. (5000 users, very happy with the results.) My current company uses Exchange for email, but has had a Domino server running a DB application for many years. We are currently migrating our Domino application to the iSeries and once done will evaluate moving email to Domino rather than upgrading Exchange.
