I don't think it's BRMS you are looking for, but Tivoli Storage Manager. 
That's another one they are bundling in some deals.  That list makes 
midrange-l and the rpglist and several others combined look dead.  It's a 
popular product.  Our PC techs could tell you more about restoring files 
from it then I can.  They love it.  We use it to back up several Wintel 
servers and clients.

Most of our LTO2 tape drives are fiber attached now.  Back when we used 
SCSI we had one drive attached to two machines.  They come with two ports. 
 You just didn't have them varied on at the same time.

Back up W2K server to iSeries tape drive - how?






Our net admin (new to the 400 world) is asking if we can backup the W2K
server (separate box from the iSeries) to the Ultrium LTO tape drive on 
our
v5r2 iSeries.

I searched the archives, got results pared down to 200+, and came away 
with,
yes it can be done.

Other than that, I don't know how to get him started.

Pointers to other references would be greatly appreciated!
