Here is something I found with a google search for SQL 42704.

A CONTINUE HANDLER ensures that the SQL procedure will continue if it
detects SQLSTATE 42704 ("undefined object name"), which DB2 returns from the
DROP statement if the table does not exist.

found at:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2v8luw/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.db2.udb.doc/ad/c0009170.htm

There were many other results from this search.

Hope this helps,
Bob Kohlndorfer

Subject: SQL status code values

Can - anyone direct me to a list of values returned in the SQLSTATE keyword
in embedded SQL statements.

Or more specifically what does Status 42704 mean?

I have searched in vain

Regards etc,

Chris
