RE: IBM overhauls iSeries for the long haul

Believe it or not, no, it didn't.  I used to think that, too, but saw an
article within the last year or so that explained the history of the S/36 in
detail.  I can't remember much, but I think it was some kind of hybrid to
satisfy the folks that didn't want to move to an S/38.

I wonder if IBM would have done that had it been known the S/36 would still
be supported all these many years later.
