We use FTP for moving files between our Mainframe and the iSeries. Our Buying System and WMS run on the iSeries, but our ERP is still on the Mainframe (until we get our new ERP system running on the iSeries). The files move in both directions everyday. Our out of company FTP's are done through our WEB server (non-iSeries).

I was interested in hearing about uses of FTP. I have used it mostly to download software or PTF's and send to the AS/400. I have never seen any problems w/ using FTP in this way. I was curious about other uses of FTP w/ the Iseries. We have to start sending health and union data perhaps this way.

Thank you,

Mike

We use it to send data to and from servers. I have also used it to conver EBCDIC to ASCII. We use FTP to take a PF from the iSeries for EDI.
