I hear you. Did not know what you'd already been through!

We use Crystal, both stand-alone and in our GUI, which is written in Delphi. There has been no problem with connecting from the GUI for our customers, but I have not looked at the order of things there.

There are some cryptic instructions from a former developer, on the use of Crystal stand-alone when generating reports for one of our services. The instruction is to already have a Client Access 5250 session going, otherwise it does not connect in Crystal. Seems weird to me, but I've never explored it. If anything, I wonder whether there is something to do with the security settings in OpsNav for a particular AS/400 connection - OpsNav is where security settings are set. It gets convoluted.

Wish I could be more help - maybe this'll get you down a better path.
