Please forgive all of the questions, but if this is the case why not use CPYF or CRTDUPOBJ to put these copies where you want them rather than go through the effort of a restore from tape? Yes we could, but we are only restoring 150 objects from one library using the month-end backup into a different library for reporting purposes. STRRCYBRM is interactive and selecting or keying in the 150 objects each month is tedious. Creating a media definition each month with the correct volume i.d.'s then calling a CL would make it a lot more efficient. A control group that saves only the 150 objects would also work but with our SLA, we only have time to save production, restore to the reporting library, and get the system up on time.
