For sites who cannot or won't afford offsite "real" storage,
I might suggest a heavy duty fireproof (at least fire resistant)
safe in another building. Get them out of the computer area!
I personally think the "take it home" is a last resort idea and
should be in a suitable damage-proof container.
Put them in another secure, 24x7 accessible place.
