There are 2 sets of FTP subcommands, one for client and one for server. To see client help, execute

help

The amount of help you get here depends on the kind of client - Windows is pretty sparse, iSeries is quite extensive, don't know about Unix.

To see server help, execute

quote help

To see help on a specific subcommand, execute the same statements with the particular command following, as in

help put

or quote help rcmd

Pete,

Thanks!! That did the trick, although in looking at the help text from
the FTP command on the iSeries you'd never even guess that "locsite" was
supported. (at least I wouldn't have)

Many Thanks,

In addition to quote site trim 0, maybe you could also issue locsite trim
0. I've not tried it.
