Do you have a route set for *DFTROUTE that points to your gateway address?

     Route Subnet Next Preferred
Opt Destination Mask Hop Interface

     *DFTROUTE *NONE 10.0.20.2 *NONE

Your iSeries need to know the way out to the internet

If so, can you ping that?

I am trying to ping with an IP address, plus the host is set up in the host
table. Now, if there should be an entry in the routing table, it's
something I'm not familiar with yet.
