Rick, I found the JAR files in the big ZIP download (5.7M). I am having trouble locating the JAR file to download mentioned in the article. I followed the links to the Apache mirror site but could not find a file with the name referenced. Searching the archives provided some good information but all paths ended at the same place. My searches all seem to end up at http://apache.mirrors.pair.com/jakarta/poi/release/bin/. None of the files listed are JAR files though. Can someone point me to the JAR file download? Being a JAVA novice the answer may be staring me in the face and I wouldn't know it.
