Mark,

If you want these power messages, as well as other "critical" messages sent
to a different message queue, do a CRTMSGQ QSYS/QSYSMSG. The presence of the
queue causes OS/400 to send severe/critical messages there instead of
QSYSOPR. These messages include, but not limited to, disabled user profile
notification, power fail/restore, ASP at threshold, etc.

I may be overcomplicating the situation here but....

You could then write a message queue break handling program to (for
instance) email UPS messages to your cell phone, etc. I use a modified
version of such a program from
http://www.mcpressonline.com/mc/.5bfa6e6c#more . To further complicate
things, I have a subsystem MONITOR which runs these break handling programs
and starts on IPL.

HTH,
Loyd

Subject: Power lost msg

Whenever we do our generator test I get System power failed at
040323091940. and then approx 5 seconds later get power restored msg.
These msg's go to QSYSOPR is there a way to direct them to a
user/workstation as a break msg?
