Arguable. RFC2782 (A DNS RR for specifying the location of services (DNS
SRV)) defines SRV RR records and states that they should start with an
_. 

RFC3600 (the latest STD1) states that RFC2782 is a "proposed standard".

Interesting that it won't accept it, but it is technically correct.
Underscores, according to the RFCs are NOT legal characters.  Microsoft
decided to do it anyway.  Many resolvers will still accept and resolve
it,
but basically they are broken and non-standard names.
