You using IE 6.0 Rob ?

Depends on how long you have most browser active. Cache, files, etc. can be
set to clear, etc. That might be what you are seeing ?

Have you noticed that you can shutdown your browser and fire it back up 
and it doesn't take so long the second time?  I wonder what it leaves on
